HABERAE HOMES

2 on First was our very first urban infill project.   Located approximately one mile from downtown, we took an abandoned lot with a "crack" house adjacent and subsequently renovated the house and then built a cute little Spanish style duplex next to it.  Each unit was under five hundred square feet and included big features like private decks, washer dryer combos inside each home and an office work space inside the kitchen.  This was also our first utilization of polished concrete floors.    Also new to the Reno development scene was our utilization of super insulation inside the homes and double walls separating the duplex units.  Another "green" feature (when nobody knew what green was) was our decision to install drought resistant landscaping on the entire lot.  We figured water is a precious commodity here in Reno and grass is a big waster of water.  The landscaping, without grass, evolved into a beautiful xeriscape with perennial shrubs and grasses.  The project was so successful we actively began seeking out lots similiar to this throughout the downtown core of Reno.
